When creating this web site, our first priority was to get permission from Arlene Francis's son, Peter Gabel, to approve it. He not only gave his permission, but also gave us permission to talk to his mother's closest friends and caregivers. He has been extremely generous with information, pictures and encouragement throughout this whole tribute. We thank you Peter, for your approval, understanding and encouragement.
We have been privileged to be able to talk to some of Arlene's closest friends and hear just what it was like to be Arlene's friends. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their contributions to this web site, and, co-operation in helping us have an insight into the heart and soul of Arlene Francis. Without their help, we would never been able to create this web site. Through our conversations with them, we have been able to give Arlene's many fans a deeper insight into her life, loves, career and loving personality. It is with hearts full of gratitude that we thank them for being so gracious to us in helping us with our endeavour. It has been obvious since the beginning of this web site that Arlene is probably one of the few people who, along with the knack for loving others, also made each person she knew feel like they were her best friend. We hope that somehow, someway Arlene knows how much she is loved and appreciated.
Our heartfelt thanks and gratitude goes to Mary Cooper, who has spent many hours talking to us and putting into words just how much Arlene meant to her and other friends. Your contributions to this web site have been invaluable and are in true keeping with being a loving, devoted and ever caring friend. Mary, you are a treasure to us, and we appreciate your willingness to help us in any way.
We also were allowed to meet with Dr. Pierre Curtet and his wife, artist, Nadine Gay. They have worked with Arlene in the past and continue to see her on a personal basis, making sure that she receives a variety of stimuli and is happy in her environment. Being able to visit with these two brilliant people was an honor, and ,we feel that we have a much better insight into the world in which Alzheimer's patients live.. Thank you Pierre and Nadine for sharing your talents and knowledge with us. We are much better people for knowing you.
Another friend of Arlene's is Phyllis Jenkins, who has provided us with insights into how talented Arlene is and how outstanding she is in that she has been involved in all medias of entertainment, sometimes all at the same time. Phyllis, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to help us with this tribute and pointing us in the right direction in our contacts with other friends.
Florence Hayes, another friend of Arlene's has been absolutely wonderful in talking about Arlene and the many treasured memories she has of not only Arlene but also of Peter Gabel, Arlene's son. She has remained very close to Arlene and Peter through the years, and, although she is in failing health herself, she never hesitates to talk about her love for Arlene and Peter. Many thanks Florence for your devotion and love.
To the many caregivers of Arlene, we express deep gratitude and appreciation for your tender care of her. You have helped make her days pleasant and comfortable, and that is worth everything to those of us who love her so very much. God bless you for your devotion to helping others.
Sincerely,
Susan
